Clubs & Activities

Book Bunch

Book Bunch is a book club for third, fourth and fifth graders. Each month, students read a designated book for their grade level at home and then meet at the end of the month with a parent volunteer and other Book Bunch members to discuss what they read.

Community Service Club

The purpose of the Community Service Club is to instill in our children a sense of responsibility, compassion, and understanding for others who are in need. Community Service Club is offered for first through fifth graders. Our activities, including monthly meetings and off-site service projects, rely on staff and parents for supervision, guidance, and some transportation (to outside activities).

Cool Science Investigations (CSI Club)

CSI focuses on hands-on science experiments with fourth and fifth grade students. There are three different science topics that are covered throughout the year, and the topics are of a different variety each year. The current focus is exploring the Milky Way. The number of participants is limited due to curriculum supplies.

Math Wings

The purpose of our Math Wings after-school club is to provide an opportunity for all fourth and fifth grade students to learn important content and skills beyond what is provided in the classroom, and to promote the mindset that all children can learn math. Our focus is to enrich the learning for motivated, high-achieving math students and encourage all students to see that they, too, can be high-achieving math students.

Run Club

Our Run Club meets at 8:15-8:45 a.m. one day per week for the five or six weeks leading up to the Jared Coones Pumpkin Run. This year the club was open to fourth and fifth graders and siblings of students who had parents as volunteers. The number of participants is limited and dependent on the number of staff and adults.

Spanish Activity Club

The Spanish Activity Club provides the opportunity for third grade students to practice using Spanish language in a non-academic setting.

Special Chorus

The Manchester Park Special Chorus is an extracurricular vocal ensemble with three or four performance opportunities for fourth and fifth grade students.

STUCO

Student Council (or STUCO) is a group of student leaders who gather once each month to promote school spirit, help with fundraisers and school activities, and make Manchester Park a better place for students, teachers, and staff. STUCO representatives are expected to be leaders in and out of the classroom. STUCO reps are elected from classrooms.
